Maramureș Balloon Fiesta 2025

We’re celebrating 10 editions of the #festivalofjoy!

Maramureș Balloon Fiesta is a fairytale-like festival, nurtured in the heart of local communities, with hot air balloons painting the sky over Țara Lăpușului, north part of Romania, with living traditions, spectacular flights, and meaningful moments.

Between 2 - 5 October, a different kind of event—non-commercial and sustainable—built with the help of volunteers, pilots, and wonderful people from all over Europe.

This year’s poster captures all the magic we want to share - the hot air balloon spectacular show, a touch of magic, vibrant colors, living traditions, the fields of Maramureș, and quality time spent together.

Since 2011, over the course of 10 editions, we’ve hosted more than 250 hot air balloons from 28 European countries in Maramureș, and this year’s edition will bring together around 25 balloons, with pilots and crews who are dear friends of our festival.
