Irish Hot Air Balloon Championships 2016

It is possible, even probable, that the location for this event may change in 2015, so please check the website for details if you are making plans far in advance.

There can be few sites as spectacular as graceful hot air balloons quitely floating past the clouds, and when you add a location like Waterford, which has become of late something of a festival specialist, you have the perfect backdrop.

This is an event not just for balloon enthusiasts, but for everyone – and perhaps especially for photographers.

This years event will include 38 balloons from Scotland, Northern Ireland, England, USA and of course Ireland. If you can’t get along in person you can view a live stream of the event.

It is all, of course, weather dependent, but we can only hope for a great week.
