In the heart of Portugal
Located only 48 miles away from Lisbon, Coruche has a remarkable landscape from which we highlight the Sorraia river (Tagus tributary) responsible for the rice's quality which is produced in the Lezíria area.

Cork oak tree covers a major part of the municipal territory corresponding to 10% of the national cork production. In average, Coruche produces 5 million cork stoppers a day which are daily exported worldwide.

We don't know for sure when the population of Coruche settled down, but there are several archaeological finds that proof the human presence since the Palaeolithic Era.

When conquered to the Moors in 1166 by D. Afonso Henriques, Portugal's first king, Coruche was given its first “Foral” on May 26th 1182, by D. Afonso Henriques himself - a royal document that carried the purpose to establish a “concelho” (council) and regulate its administration, borders and privileges.

For all it represents, Coruche still keeps its traditions facing the future challenges. It inspires trust, culture, innovation and development but preserves the rural characteristics and the enormous passion by “Festa Brava”.

Our aim is to create an event full of great fun for all participating balloon teams and at the same time to keep our sponsors interested for future events by entertaining the audience with a spectacular balloon show.

We truly hope this event will be of interest to you and your crew. We are working very hard on it being good fun with lots of laughter and most importantly joyful and safe flying.
