38th Festival International de Ballons Chateau-d'Oex

In 2016, the International Balloon Festival will take place from the 23rd to the 31st January ! The sky will be fulled with more than 80 muticolored hot air balloons !
The balloon pilots from all over the world come to Château-d'Oex to take part of this festival which gives a fantastic 360° panoramic view over the Alps !

During the two weekends, several animations are scheduled ! Balloons, special shapes, air shows and mini-balloons. The wednesday afternoon is dedicated to the children : tethered flights and a big balloon release will give a smile to all the kids. Back this year, the traditional Night Glow will take place on saturday the 30th January 2016 at 6:58pm !

During the week, the pilots will confront eachother in the different competitions organized. They will have to use their agility and precision skills to either make a ring slide on a tall post or throw a tag into the center of a target. The race of "Les Deux Gruyères", is a well-known competition and very estimated by the pilots. The balloons will have to take off from Château-d'Oex and follow the valley towards Albeuve to throw a first tag then continue their flight to the Castle of Gruyères where another tag will have to be thrown into the center of a target in the middle of the Castle yard.
