The 2015 Northampton Balloon Festival will be the 26th event and one that we hope will be a spectacular sight in the skies over Northamptonshire.

Whilst ballooning is a weather dependant activity the balloonists want to fly, so if the conditions allow, the balloons will be flying at both 6am and 6pm on each of the three days of the event.

At 9.00pm on Saturday evening, we will also be having a “Balloon Glow”. Come and watch the balloons turn into giant lanterns tethered to the ground, pulsating to the music – its magical!

Northampton Balloon festival (21 August 2023)

We were lucky we arrived early to park as I am disabled. The car park attendant was very helpful. But there were very little signs to explain how to get there avoiding the roadworks . Luckily my husband worked it out. So everybody waiting thought it opened at 11am but people on gate stated 12pm . So why so late when most will open for a 6am flight then open at 10am ( lost revenue for traders) There was not enough traders, in previous years loads more and a much better fun atmosphere. I’m sorry to say this was a fair festival. What happened to all the shapes balloons ? We didn’t see any balloons due to weather conditions but again in previous years some of the balloons would be tethered. Stunt show took too long to get going and was boring. Most food places over charging for drinks. We didn’t eat. We only stayed for two hours it took us 2.5 hours to get there . Organisers need to talk to the council to see how it use to be run to get ideas . We won’t return next year I. Then hope the reviews will be better. Then we may come the following year if it’s still going ?
