This event started out as "Hot Air Hounds" part of the Frankenmuth Dog Bowl at River Place. In 2010 it was expanded to be the first ever Great Lakes Regional Hot Air Balloon Championship and Also the Michigan State Championship. IN 2016, enjoy 25 of the most competitive pilots in the Mid-West as they compete for flight accuracy and for a cash purse! Launches and Glows planned Fri, Sat. & Sun. Evenings (fireworks after on Sunday) Morning flights fly over the same field - East / adjacent to Frankenmuth River Place Shops. What a great way to start out summer! All ballooning events are wrapped around America's largest Dog Olympic event at the same location. Dog Bowl is all day Friday and Saturday.
