Balloons over Mt. Vernon

Balloons Over Mt. Vernon is May 18 & 19, 2018 and will feature many balloons taking flight across Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

The event will kick off at the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport where the gates will open for the United Way Balloon Glow. We have lots of family fun which will also occur that evening while waiting for the balloons to inflate.

The balloons will take to the air on the morning of the Saturday the 17th just after sunrise flying into or from the airport. After the fly-in stay and enjoy a wonderful Pancake Breakfast at Wilkey’s with part of the proceeds going to the United Way.

Saturday evening will have a celebration flight from the airport.

During the day on Saturday be sure to check the many other activities occurring. There will be many airplanes on the flight line…you never know what you will see there. The EAA Chapter will be providing Young Eagle Rides. Children 8-18 years of age may take an exploratory flight in an airplane. There will many other activities to enjoy during the day.

Saturday evening will wrap up with an old time Hanger Dance and entertainment.
